Culinary Arts Instructor

The Windham School District is accepting applications for a Culinary Arts Instructor at the Sanchez State Jail Unit in El Paso, Texas.

Minimum Qualifications for Certified Applicants:  Texas State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) teacher certification in Family and Consumer Sciences, Composite -OR- Hospitality, Nutrition, and Food Sciences -OR- Trade and Industrial Education with appropriate work approval -OR- a Vocational Trades and Industry with appropriate work approval -OR- any Home Economics certificate.

Minimum Qualifications for Non-Certified Applicants: A high school diploma or GED with five years of full-time wage-earning experience within the last eight years in the culinary arts field –OR- a Bachelor's Degree with three years of full-time wage-earning experience within the last eight years in the culinary arts field -AND- A deficiency plan from a college or university working towards vocational trades and industry certification.  Vocational instructors shall obtain the required industry certification/license before the end of the contract year in which the teacher is first employed in order to maintain employment with the district.
