Teacher Recruitment Award
The Teacher Recruitment Award grants 8 hrs of administrative leave to any WSD employee who refers a teacher applicant that results in a hire.
Posters were distributed throughout the district for campuses, regions, and central administration to display.
In order to receive 8 hrs of administrative leave, the referring WSD employee will need to give a teacher applicant referral form to the applicant. The applicant will turn in the completed form with his/her application. The teacher applicant referral form must be completed and signed by the applicant AND WSD employee making the referral. The completed form shall be included in the State of Texas Application for Employment when it is submitted for a teaching position. Once the applicant is processed for hire and completes new hire training the referring WSD employee and supervisor will receive notification that 8 hrs of administrative leave is being granted.
Use of the leave will follow the same guidelines as discretionary leave. The leave will be entered in PeopleSoft as administrative leave. The absence name is “administrative leave” and the absence reason is “other”. In the requestor comment section, indicate teacher recruitment award.
